Traveling to Cuba

To travel to Cuba I will need a passport and pesos. I am going to catch a flight on Tuesday May 11th and return Friday May 14th. The flight on Tuesday leaves at 8:20 am and arrives in Havana at 1:30 pm, it is a five hours and ten minute flight. Th flight on Friday departs at 2:50 pm and returns to Atlanta at 10:10 pm, it is a seven hours and twenty minute flight. Both flights make one stop each. I would stay at the Melia Internacional Varadero which is located at Avenida las Americas, km 1, Varadero 42200 Cuba. I would visit the Varadero Beach, which is one of Cuba's most famous beach destinations and home to one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. A drawbridge connects the beach to the mainland. More than fifty hotels line the strip. Varadero also consists of a park and two caves. I would also like to explore the town of Trinidad. it is a UNESCO world heritage sight. Much of the architecture dates back from the seventeenth to the nineteenth centuries. I would like to visit the art gallery in Trinidad at the Casa de Aldeman Ortiz and the Palacio Brunet which is a grand home that was built in 1812. I would also like to visit the Che Guevara Mausoleum in Santa Clara. This is the famous site of the last guerilla battle led by Che Guevara in 1958. Che's body was laid to rest here, his mausoleum and monument are the towns biggest attractions. Lastly, i would like to visit the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. it has a vast and impressive collection of international and Cuban art. It includes works by European masters and ancient art from Greece, Rome, Asia, etc. I would like to shop at the Christmas markets at Plaza Mayor. The plaza sets up market stalls selling all sorts of holiday trinkets and decorations. The market even sells crazy wigs and gag gifts in honor of Spain's version of April fools day which falls on the 28th of December. Decorations and lights light up the plaza in January and February. I would like to go on a Havana City tour. You have to shop around for a classic car and then hop in for a hour long tour ride. There are only a few places in the world with cenotes and Cuba is one of them. I cant swim but I'd still like to enjoy one to cool down on a hot day. Another activity I'd be willing to do in Cuba is to watch the crabs cross the road. This will only happen by chance because you have to time your trip right in order to see them emerging their way from the forest and heading towards the sea. Right outside of Trinidad is Topes National Park. You can take a tour of the park by horse or vehicle. you have the options to hike or to just look at the waterfalls. The total cost of this trip would be at most $559. The flight to Havana costs $192 and the flight back to Atlanta costs $205 or 4917.65 Pesos. The Hotel costs $127 or 3049.28 Pesos. The hour long Havana City tour costs between $30 and $35.

  1. The page has good grammar and few spelling errors. The post included a detailed itinerary for flight plans and included hotel information. The text should have been broken up into smaller pieces and there should have been a photo included.

Cuba's History

Cuba was first conquered in 1511 by the Spaniards from Spain after Christopher Columbus’ arrival in 1492. The Spaniards conquered throughout the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Cuba was also colonized by the U.S. The Spanish-American war resulted in Spanish withdrawal in 1898. Three and a half years later, Cuba gained its independence in 1902. Three aboriginal groups that inhabited the island when the Spaniards invaded were the Guanahatabey, the Ciboney, and the Taino. They soon died because of disease or from the shock of conquest. As a result, indigenous group influence was limited to Spanish culture. Cuba began to prevail in the nineteenth century. It became the major sugar producer of the world after Haiti collapsed as a producing colony. Sugar supplanted tobacco agriculture and cattle became the main occupation. Cuba was the last Spanish possession in the Americas. The Platt amendment of 1901 gave the U.S. the right to intervene in Cuban politics. The island remained a
Ever wanted to visit Cuba? Here's some reasons why you should. Cuba has 1600 islands and islets to choose from for your visit. One of their prized sights is the Sierra Maestra range mountains at real de turquino standing at 6.578 feet. This is also the sight where revolutionaries recuperated and began a guerilla campaign when Castro and his insurgents were nearly wiped out by government security when he returned to Cuba after his arrest. This Caribbean island has a tropical climate that well serves its abundant fertile land. Cuba's agricultural and trade hub role has led to a racially and religiously diverse population. 64% identify themselves as white, about 27 % identify themselves as mestizo, and about 9% consider themselves black. Also if you are an artist or a baseball lover Cuba is the destination for you.                    You should know when thinking of traveling to Cuba that the primary language there is Spanish but they employ loan words of nat
